Lembar, Indonesia Cruise Port

The port of Lembar is situated within the Indonesian region of West Lombok and serves as a gateway to the bustling nearby city of Bali. The port is also a transit point to other popular Indonesian locations including the town of Mataram, the Gili Islands and Kuta. Lembar is often the first port of call for travellers visiting Indonesia and is a great place from which to access the rest of the island quickly and easily. The region boasts a pristine coastline and lush green forests, filled with native wildlife. Local parks and gardens are the ideal place to relax and take a stroll around this stunning corner of the world.

Sightseeing in Lembar

Although the port of Lembar contains an assortment of stunning natural scenery, most visitors will simply pass through to the nearby destinations of Mataram, Bali, Kuta and the Gili Islands, as there is very little in terms of local landmarks and attractions. However, there are plenty of exciting excursion possibilities and fascinating attractions situated nearby to the port of Lembar within Indonesian region of Lombok.

Narmada Water Park

Located around 10km east of Mataram, this park is a place of relaxation, containing both a Hindu temple and swimming pool. The park also has a special fountain known as the Youth Fountain. It is said that the fountain will grant a long life to anyone who drinks from it. The attraction is particularly popular with local people, who flock to the park at weekends to play, relax and swim.

The Waterfalls

Lombok is home to three majestic waterfalls, which attract visitors from all over the country. The most popular waterfall is named Air Terjun Sindang gila and is a spectacular sight. Visitors are also welcome to swim in the cool waters at its base. The second waterfall is around an hour's walk from Air Terjun Sindang gila and may require the assistance of a guide to locate. The third waterfall can only be found by experience rock climbers with the correct equipment and a local guide to show them the way.

Tanjung A'an

Tanjung A'an is an incredibly beautiful area situated near to Kuta beach. The area is famous for its unique sand, which looks more like pepper than the typical sand found on other beaches around Indonesia's vast coastline.

Shopping in Lembar

A wide range of souvenir and gift shops are distributed throughout the Indonesian region of Lombok selling a variety of authentic arts, crafts and locally made clothes and garments.

Eating Out in Lembar

Lembar and the surrounding regions of Lombok are famous for their delicious spicy cuisine. The word Lombok actually translates to mean chilli pepper, which is particularly appropriate considering the local gastonomy. One of the most famous local dishes is ayam taliwang, but the exact recipe for this is surrounded in mystery. Other local meals that tourist should try whilst in Lombok include pelecing, lengkare and kelor. Further afield on the Gili Islands and in Senggigi, a wide range of international cuisine and familiar western meals are also available.
