Azamara Club Cruises

Begin your Aegean adventure with a direct flight from the UK to Athens, where you will be transferred to the port and embark Azamara Pursuit. Your first calling point is Mykonos, a picture-postcard destination which charms you with its irresistible town and winding alleyways. Continue your journey to Turkey and visit Kusadasi, where you can explore the monumental Roman ruins and stroll the sun-kissed streets.

Next, visit Samos in Greece, an inviting stopping point for cruisers where you can walk the Megalo Seitani beach or trek the Kerkis summit for an active Aegean experience. Then, cruise to other desired destinations including Kos, Chania and Santorini before finally disembarking your Azamara cruise in Athens, where you will be transferred to a five-star hotel for one night.

Transfer from the hotel the next day and board a direct flight to Amman for a two-night stay at the Boulevard Arjaan by Rotana. Whilst here, take a morning tour of Amman including a visit to the citadel where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city. Take a trip to the restored Roman theatre in downtown Amman, before taking an afternoon tour of Jerash.

Travel along the King's Way the next day, visiting Madaba – home to a Byzantine mosaic map, Mount Nebo and the crusader castle of Shobak. Continue to Petra, where you can stay for three nights at the Movenpick Resort Petra, situated right at the entrance to one of the Seven Wonders of the World. In the morning, take a guided tour of the red-city over two days, with an option to enjoy Petra by candlelight on the second night.

Visit Al Beidha and drive to Wadi Rum for a 4x4 excursion into the desert. Transfer to the Dead Sea and stay for two nights at the Movenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea. After this, enjoy a day at your leisure with an optional morning excursion to the baptism site of Jesus in Bethany. Transfer from your hotel to Amman airport for a direct flight to the UK, full of memories from your adventurous Aegean tour.

22 September 2018 Fly direct from the UK to Athens.
On arrival transfer to the port and embark Azamara Pursuit.
23 September 2018 Mykonos, Greece.
Mykonos is living proof that picture-postcard destinations do exist. Its many charms include iconic windmills, fabulous beaches and an irresistible traditional town with a maze of twisting streets and alleys originally designed to confuse marauding pirates. Dazzling sunlight reflects off whitewashed houses and hundreds of small chapels. Other adornments include shaded courtyards and balconies lush with flowers and a lively nightlife that some claim is the best in Europe. Nearby you can visit the uninhabited island of Delos, birthplace of Apollo, fittingly the god of sunlight, music and beauty.
24 September 2018 Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey.
Kusadasi is your port of access to an age-old civilisation. Ephesus was once the second largest metropolitan area in the Roman Empire, eclipsed only by Rome herself. Explore this city of construction both monumental and mundane. It was famed for the Temple of Artemis, one of the wonders of the ancient world; the Library of Celsus, with its thousands of scrolls; and its amphitheatre, with a capacity of 24,000 spectators. But you can also imagine yourself in the sandals of a resident as you stroll the streets past marketplaces and into bath complexes that offered piped-in hot water, massage and sauna.
25 September 2018 Samos, Greece.
An otherworldly destination awaits. Lush and inviting, Samos sits directly on the route between Athens and Izmir, making it a popular stopping point for travellers. However, with Azamara Club Cruises®’ longer stays in port, a ‘stopover’ can become so much more. Do you believe in magic? After a visit to Samos, you just might. The island has been inhabited since 4000 BC, and is the legendary birthplace of the goddess Hera, and has even played host to Antony and Cleopatra—and that’s just the beginning. A visit to see the Temple of Hera—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—or a hike to the mighty waterfalls and crystalline lakes of Potami are sure to make you a believer. For those seeking a slower pace, a trip to the 350-metre stretch of pristine beach at Megalo Seitani is a must. Keep your eyes peeled for the Mediterranean monk seal: Megalo Seitani has been allocated as a Special Protection Zone for this curious creature. Want a more active adventure? Try a trek up one of the highest mountains in the Aegean Sea. The Kerkis summit sits 1,444 meters above sea level and can take around three hours to reach the top. When you have ascended to the apex, be sure to reward yourself with a glass of Samos’ famous Muscat wine—Opa!
26 September 2018 Kos, Greece.
Kos is full of reminders of classical Greece, and of the Knights of St John, who held the island for two centuries in the late Middle Ages. Their impressive fortress remains, enclosed by two sets of walls with massive towers at the corners. Below is a colourful and charming town clad in palm-lined walks, white colonnaded houses, and gardens of red hibiscus. On a terraced hillside is a sanctuary consecrated to Asclepius, a healer and son of Apollo, but dedicated to Hippocrates, the father of medicine, born here about 460 BC. It was a place of worship, but also a medical facility staffed by priest healers.
27 September 2018 Chania, Crete, Greece.
On the northwest side of Crete rests the old Venetian port of Chania, the second largest city on the island. Inhabited since the Neolithic era, Chania is a modern city built over the ruins of the ancient city of Kydonia. Stroll through the old city and see how it has been touched by the intersection of diverse civilisations throughout history, with a mixture of Greek, Venetian and Ottoman influences on every corner: Minoan ruins, Byzantine churches, and impressive frescos. The Archaeological Museum of Chania houses an extensive collection of Minoan and Roman artefacts, and with replicas of ships dating back to the Bronze Age, the Naval Museum is a great way to explore the ages of Chania. Discover the Byzantine collection in the restored Venetian Church of San Salvadore, or venture to the nearby national park and hike the Samaria Gorge. Local handicrafts make for great shopping or relax at a seaside restaurant and café.
28 September 2018 Santorini, Greece.
Your daydream of a Greek island meets reality in Santorini – its whitewashed villages cling to cliff sides, and bright blue roofs reflecting the sea and sky. So beautiful is it, that you can almost believe the myths that claim it as the birthplace of gods. Born itself as a volcanic cone, the island blew its top in 1450 BC, its centre sank, and it assumed its current crescent shape, outlined by three main islands. The capital, Fira, a pedestrian haven with narrow, meandering cobblestone lanes, is reachable only by cable car, donkey, or for the fit and fearless, a flight of 600 steps.
29 September 2018 Piraeus (Athens), Greece.
Disembark and transfer to a 5-star hotel for a 1-night stay. Enjoy the history of this city and visit the magnificent Acropolis, which you can see from all parts of Athens, a tribute to the Greek heritage.
30 September 2018 Transfer from the hotel to the airport for a direct flight to Amman.
On arrival transfer to the Boulevard Arjaan by Rotana for a 2-night stay. Explore the history and visit the magisterial Citadel, featuring Roman ruins, international museum as well as mosques, souks and coffeehouses which live and breathe Jordanian life.
01 October 2018 Morning tour of Amman. ,br> Visit the citadel with panoramic views of the whole city and the restored Roman theatre in downtown Amman. Afternoon tour of Jerash.
02 October 2018 Travel along the King’s Way.

03 October 2018 Take a guided tour of Petra, the rose-red city rediscovered by JL Burckhardt in 1812.
04 October 2018 Return to the main site for more exploration with your guide. Optional evening visit to Petra by candlelight.
05 October 2018 Morning visit to Al Beidha, or ‘Little Petra’.

06 October 2018 Day at leisure.
