12 February 2018 Port Klang (Kuala Lumpur).
Kuala Lumpur, or KL, as locals refer to it, intrigues visitors with its diversity and multicultural character. The city's old quarter features stretches of shop houses that hint at its colonial past, while modern buildings — including the iconic Petronas Towers — give a glimpse of its modern financial ambitions. The city is filled with culturally colourful quarters dedicated to Chinese, Malay and Indian communities. New shopping malls with designer labels, five-star hotels and top-notch restaurants also proliferate in this bustling city of 1.6 million people.
13 February 2018 Penang, Georgetown, Malaysia.
An island off the northwest coast of the Malaysia peninsula, Penang is blessed with a multicultural history that has led to a fascinating fusion of East and West. Claimed by the British East India Company in 1786, the island's city centre of Georgetown — listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site — is filled with colonial architecture, temples and museums. The island has also attracted many Chinese immigrants, who now make up the majority of the population. On Penang you will find an exciting mix of jungle, coast, farmland and fishing villages, along with the country's largest Buddhist temple.
14 February 2018 Phuket, Thailand.
Phuket is one of the region's economic powerhouses — millions of tourists visit the island every year, enjoying the many delights that are offered in this established resort island. Phuket is a modern, vibrant island with more than six million annual visitors, a number that is increasing year-on-year. If you have never been to Phuket, you will likely love it; returning visitors will find a new island that eagerly greets its next wave of tourism. Phuket, a rain-forested, mountainous island has some of Thailand’s most popular beaches, mostly situated along the clear waters of the western shore. The island is home to many high-end seaside resorts, spas and restaurants.
15 February 2018 Day at sea.
16 February 2018 Yangon, Myanmar (2 nights on-board).
The capital until 2006, Yangon (Rangoon) is now Myanmar's largest city and commercial centre. It is truly developing, and full of juxtapositions: new high-rises sit alongside traditional Southeast Asian shop houses, while down the street from a frozen yogurt bar, a sidewalk dentist goes to work. Yangon's rich collection of colonial architecture is one of its biggest draws; The Strand and its surrounding side streets look, today, much as they did at the turn of the century, when Yangon was under British rule. Yangon’s most iconic sight is unquestionably the enormous gilded Shwedagon Pagoda.
19 February 2018 Day at sea.
20 February 2018 Day at sea.
21 February 2018 Malacca, Malaysia.
With a fascinating multicultural history, Malacca is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site with much to explore. It was a trading centre with China, India and Indonesia, and was at one time occupied by Arabs, Portuguese, Dutch and British settlers, resulting in an abundance of historic sites and an interesting local cuisine.
