Silversea

Explore the Caribbean from a different perspective during an ultra-luxury Silversea cruise package that begins in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

While here you will enjoy an unforgettable El Yunque Rainforest Tour and a trip to Luquillo Beach. El Yunque is the only tropical rainforest in the U.S National Park system, featuring more than 240 species of plant and wildlife, as well as waterfalls, streams and hiking trails. Your tour guide will take you to El Portal Visitor Centre, La Coca Falls and Yokahu Tower: an observation point standing 1,500 feet above sea level.

The next day, you have plenty of free time to explore everything San Juan has to offer. Lose yourself in the quaint cobbled streets of Old San Juan, where you can visit Plaza del Quinto Centenario, Plaza de Armas and many more squares that act as meeting points for locals and snapshots of history for tourists - there are countless statues and sculptures to admire. San Juan also has plenty of parks nestled among the skyscrapers and historic buildings, including Parque de las Palomas, which offers lovely harbour views.

From San Juan you will embark Silversea's stunning cruise ship, Silver Wind, for a seven-night ultra-luxury cruise to the Caribbean islands.

Your first stop is Gustavia, on St Barts: a picturesque town whose skyline is dotted with red roofs. Chic boutiques and art galleries line the streets, and gourmet restaurants serve mouthwatering French-inspired cuisine. Next on your itinerary is Charlestown in Nevis, before you cruise to Roseau, Scarborough and St George's (in Dominica, Tobago and Grenada, respectively). You will also explore Castries - the capital of St Lucia - which is surrounded by towering mountains, dense rainforest, fertile valleys, and acres of banana plantations.

Finally, you will reach Bridgetown. The capital of Barbados will be your home for three nights as you stay in the five-star Hilton Barbados hotel; the perfect base from which to explore the island. Awash with everything from picturesque colonial architecture to pristine white-sand beaches, you certainly won't be short of ways to spend your time. Go shopping on Broad Street, soak up the rhythms of local culture on Swan Street, snorkel on breath-taking off-shore reefs or simply relax in your hotel, ready to fly back to the UK feeling completely rejuvenated.

28 February 2019 Fly from the UK to San Juan.
On arrival, transfer to a 5-star hotel for a 3-night stay.
01 March 2019 El Yunque Rainforest Tour and Luquillo Beach trip
Visit El Yunque, the only tropical rainforest in the U.S National Park system, featuring more 240 species of plant and wildlife alongside waterfalls, streams and hiking trails. You will also visit El Portal Visitor Centre, La Coca Falls and Yokahu Tower, an observation point which stands 1,500 feet above sea level. Opt to combine a morning trip to El Yunque with an afternoon of swimming, sun tanning and relaxing on placid Luquillo Beach.
02 March 2019 Day at leisure
San Juan has plenty to keep you occupied before you step onto your cruise ship and sail through the Caribbean. Stroll through vast squares, admire rainbow-coloured colonial buildings, pop into smart boutiques and sample world-class cuisine.
03 March 2019 Transfer from the hotel to the port and embark Silver Wind.
04 March 2019 Gustavia, St Barts.
You can easily explore all of Gustavia during a two-hour stroll. Some shops close from noon to 3pm or 4pm, so plan lunch accordingly, but shops do then stay open past 7 in the evening. Don't miss a stroll along Rue de la République, alongside the catamarans, yachts and sailboats.
05 March 2019 Charlestown, Nevis.
The island is covered with ruins of the sugar plantation era, which declined in the late 1800s after slavery was abolished and the sugar beet created competition for sugar cane. Nevis is a paradise for nature lovers. There is excellent snorkelling just off-shore and scuba diving around wrecks and natural reefs. There are rainforests and ruins - fascinating for people who enjoy the natural side of the tropics.
06 March 2019 Roseau, Dominica.
Caribbean vernacular architecture and a bustling marketplace transport visitors back in time. Though you can quickly walk the entire town in about an hour, you'll get a much better feel for the place on a leisurely stroll.
07 March 2019 Scarborough, Tobago.
Together, the islands of Trinidad and Tobago make up a state and as such are an independent member of the British Commonwealth. Located just off the coast of Venezuela, both islands are excellent getaways offering different attractions. While Trinidad pulses with life, the smaller and unspoiled island of Tobago is the place for a restful and relaxing holiday. Most of its appeal lies in the beautiful scenery and availability of outdoor activities. The tourist area is concentrated on the southwestern end, about six miles from the island’s capital of Scarborough. The recently completed deep water harbour with its new cruise terminal has helped to spruce up the town a bit. Although not warranting an extended visit, Scarborough features interesting Botanic Gardens, a few historical buildings and the well-maintained Fort King George, located above the town. The primary appeal, however, lies without doubt in the great outdoors - swimming, snorkelling, diving, fishing, golfing, playing tennis or simply relaxing on Tobago's glorious beaches.
08 March 2019 St George's, Grenada.
Nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, cocoa: those heady aromas fill the air in Grenada. The Isle of Spice is a tropical gem of lush rainforests, white-sand beaches, secluded coves, exotic flowers, and enough locally grown spices to fill anyone's kitchen cabinet. St. George's is one of the most picturesque capital cities in the Caribbean, and St. George's Harbour is one of the most picturesque harbours. Grenada's Grand Anse Beach is one of the region's finest beaches. The island has friendly, hospitable people and enough good shopping, restaurants, historic sites and natural wonders to make it a popular port of call.
09 March 2019 Castries, St Lucia.
With a lush interior featuring towering mountains, dense rainforest, fertile valleys and acres of banana plantations, St. Lucia is mostly distinguished by the Pitons — twin peaks that soar high above the ocean floor on the southwest coast. Whether you stay in Soufrière, in the north in or around Rodney Bay Village, or even farther north at Cap Estate, exploring the iconic natural sights — and local history — in Soufrière is a day well spent.
10 March 2019 Bridgetown, Barbados.
Disembark and transfer to a 5-star hotel for a 3-night stay.
You can spend your time here in myriad ways. Admire the colonial architecture, recline on pristine white-sand beaches, or grab your snorkel and take in life beneath the waves. Go shopping on Broad Street, soak up the rhythms of local culture on Swan Street, or simply relax in the luxury of your hotel.
13 March 2019 Transfer from the hotel to the airport for a direct overnight flight to the UK.
