Crystal Cruises

Your stunning Italian adventure begins in Rome. After flying in from the UK you will transfer to a five-star hotel for a four-night stay in this captivating city. And there certainly won't be a shortage of things to experience.

Embark on a tour of Rome's stunning Colosseum by night, skipping lines at the entrance and exploring every level of this iconic structure with an expert guide. There is no better way to experience one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The next day you will enjoy an enchanting excursion along the Orcia Valley, the most beautiful part of Tuscany. Explore the medieval Tuscan hilltown of Montepulciano, visit picturesque wine cellars in former Etruscan Tombs, and taste a variety of stunning wines paired with typical Tuscan cold cuts, cheeses and bruschetta.

Next, visit the Sistine Chapel on an early-morning tour to beat the crowds. Stroll the grounds with a guide before exploring in your own time; admiring Michelangelo's masterpiece and exploring the Vatican Museums, including the nine-mile art collection.

Your final tour takes you to one of the most interesting archaeological sites in the world: Pompeii, but not before taking in breath-taking views of the Amalfi Coast from a collection of scenic viewpoints. Stroll around charming Positano, sample local Limoncello and visit the celebrated ‘Paradise Cloister' that dates back to the 13th Century.

After returning to your hotel in room and slotting in some final sightseeing time, you will transfer to the port and embark your Crystal cruise ship: Crystal Serenity. Your unforgettable Mediterranean cruise will transport you to some of the most beautiful ports in Italy: Elba, Florence and La Spezia, where you can explore fertile valleys, historic towns, iconic architecture and azure coves. You will then move on to the millionaire's playground of Monte Carlo, before relaxing in St Tropez and disembarking in Marseille, where you will transfer to the airport for a direct flight home to the UK.

19 September 2018 Fly direct from the UK to Rome.

Rome is a heady mix of haunting ruins, fine dining and unrivalled shopping opportunities all mixed in with iconic museums and a fantastic nightlife. Spend an afternoon at leisure exploring the beautiful city.
20 September 2018 Amalfi Coast and Pompeii tour.
Head out on a scenic tour of the Amalfi Coast, starting with Positano, one of the most famous and charming towns along the coast. Stroll beautiful beaches and relish the history in this ancient fishing port before picking up a local, artisan craft for loved ones back home. You will then transfer to Amalfi, a magical, higgledy-piggledy town where buildings seem to tumble down the cliffs. Sample Limoncello before taking in more breath-taking views and reaching the ancient ruins of Pompeii, where an expert guide will immerse you in this unforgettable town-lost-in-time.
21 September 2018 Early Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums tour.
Today, beat the crowds with an early-morning tour of the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums. Your guide will enthral you with the fascinating history of Michelangelo’s masterpiece, before leaving you with the day at your leisure to explore the Vatican Museums. Use your complimentary map to slot in the most important sights, such as the Vatican’s nine-mile art collection, or simply wander where the feeling takes you and see if you can uncover some hidden gems.
At night head to the Colosseum for an unforgettable night-tour of one of the Seven Wonders of the World: the Colosseum. Walk through every level – from the Arena floor to the underground hideaways – accompanied by a knowledgeable guide; immersing yourself in history.
22 September 2018 Tuscany 'Wine and Romance' tour.
Enjoy this enchanting excursion along the Orcia Valley: the most beautiful part of Tuscany. You will stop at Montepulciano, where the ‘vino nobile’ (Noble Wine) has been produced since the 8th Century AD. Taste wine in former Etruscan Tombs and tour the Casato Prime Donne wine factory, where you will learn about the making of the wine surrounded by aged wooden barrels. Taste the vino for yourself, paired with Tuscan cold cuts, cheeses and bruschetta, before continuing on to Sant Antimo Abbey and Pienza, the latter of which is known as the ‘jewel of the Renaissance architecture’. Sample famous Pecorino cheese in Pienza and explore the picturesque cobbled streets before heading back to Rome.
23 September 2018 Transfer from the hotel to Civitavecchia port and embark Crystal Serenity.
24 September 2018 Elba/Portoferraio, Italy.
Perhaps most famous for its exiled inhabitant, Napoleon Bonaparte, the island of Elba is a haven for the inquisitive traveller. Situated between the Northern Italian Coast and the French Island of Corsica, Elba's geographical location, combined with its mild climate, fertile valleys and cliff-fringed coasts, leaves little to be desired. Sweeping views of azure bays and scenic countryside meld with the fascinating history of this island to provide a visit that will not be forgotten.
25 September 2018 Florence/Livorno, Italy.
Goethe once observed that Tuscany "looks like Italy should [look]." Fortunately, little has changed in the two centuries since the German poet was himself a tourist in Tuscany. The Tyrrhenian port of Livorno was founded in the 15th Century. It is the gateway to Italy's Tuscan region and to many spectacular sights, including the extraordinary Leaning Tower of Pisa, the charming medieval village of Lucca, the lovely hill town of San Gimignano and the timeless city of Florence. No place is as imbued with such grace, dignity, serenity and history as Florence. This city's wealth of architectural and artistic treasures includes works by Raphael, da Vinci, Botticelli and Michelangelo. Truly Florence, cradle of the Italian Renaissance, is one of the world's most enticing cities.
26 September 2018 La Spezia, Italy.
Situated between Genoa and Pisa on the Ligurian Sea, La Spezia is ideally positioned for day trips, most notably to the villages of the Cinque Terre, or the 'Five Lands'. Clinging to the rugged coast that unfurls west of La Spezia, the villages and hillsides of this section of the Italian Riviera are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and reputed to be some of the most picturesque destinations of Italy, if not in the world. That is not to say that the town of La Spezia isn’t worth spending some time in. It has an impressive nautical history, with the Naval Arsenal being developed here in the 1860s. Today, many nautical-themed diversions can be enjoyed, including a visit to the naval museum, or Museo Tecnico Navale, which exhibits an interesting collection of ships’ figureheads. On display at the seafront are boats, parks and people who gladly take in the Italian sunshine and demonstrate how to live 'la dolce vita'.
27 September 2018 Monte Carlo, Monaco (overnight on-board).
Monaco is an ancient principality steeped in rich and colourful history. Its proud monarchy is presided over by Prince Albert, who assumed the throne after his famed father Prince Rainier died in 2005. Today, when gazing on its modern skyline, it is hard to imagine that Monaco endured a turbulent past. Once a Greek settlement conquered by the Romans, it was bought from the Genoese in 1309 by the Grimaldis, who still rule as the world's oldest monarchy. Monaco covers less than one square mile and is known primarily for its Grand Casino.
29 September 2018 St Tropez, France.
St Tropez has earned its glamorous reputation as a summer playground for celebrities, artists and writers. At the height of its popularity during the 1950s and 1960s, one could easily find Pablo Picasso, Francoise Sagan, Jacques Prévet and the classic movie actress Brigitte Bardot vacationing here. Its famous beaches are still frequented by affluent guests who seek a lively night life and a piece of the 'St-Trop' allure. Magnificent yachts line the port, as their owners vie to achieve titles for who has the biggest, the most luxurious or the best-kept vessel, or for which vessel has the most enthusiastic crew. You will certainly be enticed by the colourful sights and sounds of this 'Gem of the Provencal Culture'.
30 September 2018 Marseille, France.
Disembark and transfer to the airport for a direct flight back to the UK.
