Compagnie Du Ponant L'Austral Cruises
A L'Austral cruise offers a voyage of a lifetime. The second of two identical 264-guest vessels joining the Compagnie du Ponant fleet, the 466-foot L'Austral has been designed with luxurious materials and all the latest technology earning her the international "green ship" label for numerous eco-friendly features such as a dynamic positioning system to avoid having to drop anchor and waste water treatment on board.
On a L'Austral cruise you can enjoy an ambiance that's distinctly nautical with a soupçon of French style and on board guests will be treated to the best France has to offer: delicious cuisine, tasteful accommodations and a chic, yet informal atmosphere. The intimate size of L'Austral and a staff-to-guest ratio of 1:2 mean guests will enjoy a highly personalised service. The yacht's open-bridge policy means guests can visit the captain anytime.
Spacious and airy, on a L'Austral cruise you will have an abundance of public spaces - a theatre for performances and lectures, the Main Lounge with a dance floor and live music, the Panoramic Lounge offers live entertainment and an area for Internet access, a Library, two open-air bars and two restaurants. Serving French and international cuisine, there are three meals a day in an elegant setting whilst La Boussole provides a more casual alternative where guests can dine inside or al fresco on lighter meals for breakfast, buffet lunch and themed dinners. There is also 24-hour room service. The beautiful Carita Spa has a range of therapies and beauty treatments including a Hamman and a hydrotherapy room. The fitness centre comes with the latest treadmills, bicycles and kinesis equipment whilst offering gorgeous views. There's ample room to enjoy the sea air on the expansive Sun Deck, beside the swimming pool or on the Panoramic Terrace. And on a hot summer's day, guests may even want to jump off the marina platform for a refreshing swim. L'Austral will also be equipped with a fleet of zodiacs which will allow guests to explore private coves and deserted islets.
When it comes to the accommodation on a L'Austral cruise, all but eight of the 132 suites and staterooms have a balcony. Spacious and designed in a comfortable, contemporary style, the suites and staterooms come with king or twin beds, bathtubs or showers with L'Occitane amenities, flat screen satellite TV, DVD, CD and Ipod™ players, satellite direct-dial telephone and Wi-Fi. Suites also have Nespresso machines and Carita amenities.

If the adult is not the parents of the Passenger under the age of 18, Parental/Guardianship consent must be signed to his/her parent or legal guardian and delivered to the Carrier before sailing. Regents will not accomate infants under the age of 12 months and reserves the right to limit the number of passengers under 3 years of age.

My husband and I have recently returned from our first cruise with Compagnie Du Ponant onboard L’Austral. We had not hear of them before but when our cruise concierge recommended them to us as they thought they would suit what we were looking for. We our very thankful to them as it was the best cruise we have ever done. The ship was extremely modern and the size was perfect. It has the perfect balance of chic and casual to make us free as if we were on our own private yacht. The staff we excellent and extremely friendly. The food was fabulous and served with a personal service. We have now booked to go on their new ship, Le Soleal and really looking forward to it.
