Dreaming of exploring new places or revisiting fond holiday memories? With the world opening up once again, it’s time to start planning your next adventure and cure make new memories on your next cruise holiday.

We’ve been talking to some members of our team and asked them to share some of their top holiday memories and holiday plans they are looking forward to making. Maybe these will help inspire your next trip!

The Seychelles

Staff from SixStarCruisesTeresa, from our Director team, has always wanted to visit the serene beaches of the Seychelles, “It’s somewhere I’ve always wanted to travel to but never found the right time. Remote beaches, warm tropical evenings,  amazing wildlife and the opportunity to swim in crystal blue seas, what’s not to love!” she says.

Cruising to this destination not only means she can enjoy beautiful sunsets across many beaches but she can extend her trip even further. “Combining this trip with a stop in South Africa would also tick Cape Town off my bucket list. The food, atmosphere and vibrancy of this city is something I would love to discover”.

Seychelles - Indian Ocean

After all of the uncertainty of the last two years,  a relaxing break is high on Teresa’s list of holiday priorities! “I love the thought of relaxing on the beach and where better to do it then one of the most beautiful places in the world,” she’s shared.

Alaska

Staff from SixStarCruisesThe travel dreams of our Director team couldn’t get more varied, with Alex opting for the glaciers and lakes of Alaska, “I’ve already rebooked my initial cruise to Alaska for the same trip next year – same cruise line and same itinerary! It was a trip of a lifetime and I’m still looking forward to it.” he says.

This area of the world is really a feast for the eyes and there is no better way to travel this scenic landscape than by cruise and train. “What will make it so special is the Rocky Mountaineer experience so we get to see the beautiful surroundings of the Canadian Rockies from both perspectives.”

Lake in Alaska - Mountains - Landscape
After being unable to take this trip in 2020, Alex can’t wait to get back into the great outdoors on his next adventure! “The glaciers, fjords and mountains are a feast for the eyes, and I can’t wait to see it all.”

Barcelona

Staff from SixStarCruisesFor Emma, our Copywriter, it’s all about life in the city for her travel plans “Barcelona is definitely one of my favourite places I’ve travelled to – wandering through the Gothic Quarter and enjoying a group cooking lesson making tapas and sangria is still a great holiday memory for me.” she says.

Many cruise itineraries are perfect for ticking off the cities of the world which can be explored time and again. “This time I’m pairing it with a cruise and overnight stays in both Barcelona and Seville, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of beautiful Spain and her many cities!”

For many, travel is about new experiences and new cuisine and Emma’s no exception! “I’ve already planned my return to the city as the incredible food, culture and landmarks make it a great destination to visit multiple times.”

Vietnam

Staff from SixStarCruisesKarina, who heads up our Sales team has been wanting to see more of Vietnam in 2021 “I can’t wait to go back, I love the culture; the people are so friendly, and the food is incredible!” she says.

A cruise to Asia is ideal for explorers as there are so many exciting ports across the region. “I’ve previously visited Southern Vietnam where I enjoyed an overnight stay at the beautiful Ho Chi Minh City – the perfect place to explore at your own pace.”

Southern Vietnam - Asia

Vietnam is a country of contrasts from bustling cities like Hanoi to the stunning limestone islands of Ha Long Bay. For Karina, her next trip will be more about relaxation “This time around I’m planning to visit the north and experience the beautiful Ha Long Bay in person.”

Barbados

Staff from SixStarCruisesOne of our Sales Concierge, Greg Hill, spoke about his love of Barbados, saying “the beautiful beaches and friendly locals made me fall in love with the Caribbean and never want to leave.”

He eagerly plans to return to the destination as well as other Caribbean islands by pairing it with a cruise and a stay, revisiting Barbados for a chance to explore more of the neighbouring islands. “I’m already looking forward to the incredible food and rum punch,” he’s shared.

Antarctica

Staff from SixStarCruisesAnother member of our Director team, Sally, has also shared her top bucket list destination as Antarctica. She revealed “there is something about the thought of discovering a remote location and seeing wildlife in its natural habitat that makes you appreciate how wonderful nature really is.”

By visiting this destination on a luxury expedition cruise, it not only offers the ultimate in comfort and style, but means that she can meet with the cruise line’s destination experts and enjoy immersive Zodiac tours and shoreside activities that wouldn’t be possible otherwise.

Silversea - Expedition cruises

This means that, not only does Sally get to tick this stunning destination off her bucket list, but she experiences it on an expedition cruise that is truly once-in-a-lifetime.”
