Most people taking a luxury cruise will want to enjoy a few alcoholic drinks on-board. But even if you don’t drink alcohol, it can be helpful to know before you book your cruise, whether your drinks are included or if you’ll be expected to pay for them.

The answer to whether drinks are included on-board your cruise depends very much on the luxury cruise line that you sail with…

All drinks are included on Regent Seven Seas, Seabourn, Silversea & Crystal Cruises

These ‘ultra-luxury’ cruise lines only offer all-inclusive cruises, which means that you’ll enjoy unlimited drinks including fine wines, Champagne and premium spirits. There may be an extra charge for rare or ultra-premium bottles of wine, but that’s all, so you can sit back, relax, and order whatever you fancy without thinking of the bill.

Some drinks are included on Azamara Club Cruises & Oceania Cruises

With Azamara Club Cruises you’ll enjoy selected spirits, international beers and a changing selection of one red and one white wine by the glass included in your cruise fare.

If you’d prefer a wider choice of drinks, you can purchase a beverage package. These range from $8.95 per person, per day for premium bottled water, to $14.95 for premium beers and $15.95 for premium spirits. The wine package costs $29.95 per person, per day for unlimited glasses from a choice of 13 wines. Wine packages are also available for 5, 7, 10 or 12 bottles

With Oceania Cruises, you’ll enjoy free unlimited soft drinks, bottled water, speciality coffees, teas and juices. Alcoholic drinks can be purchased by the glass, or you can buy a drinks package for your whole cruise.

The House Select package includes unlimited Champagne, wine and beer with lunch and dinner and costs £24.99 per person, per day. The Prestige Select package includes premium spirits, Champagne, wine and beer wherever and whenever you wish and costs £37.99 per person, per day.

No Drinks are included on Hapag Lloyd Cruises

Although drinks aren’t included in the fare with Hapag Lloyd cruises, many staterooms feature a Nespresso coffee machine, along with a free mini bar which us re-stocked twice each day. The drinks on-board are duty-free prices so are actually pretty cheap – around £1.15 for a beer, £3.35 for a cocktail and £11.25 for a bottle of wine. From time to time, Hapag Lloyd Cruises also have booking incentives offering free on-board credit, which can be used on drinks.
