Gijon, Spain
The coastal city of Gijon is located on the Bay of Biscay in the Asturias Province of north western Spain. As a coastal region, the city is well-known for its marvellous collection of sandy beaches that stretch majestically along its scenic coastline. The region also boasts a long and intriguing history, with archaeological evidence suggesting that the area has had human inhabitants since the ancient Palaeolithic area, through the Middle Ages up until the present day. Sightseeing in Gijon

Gijon Aquarium
The Gijon Aquarium houses around 60 different exhibits, showcasing aquatic species from around the world. Guided tours of the aquarium are available and displays include a ‘touch zone’, where guests can get up close to and feel a variety of small fish and starfish.
Atlantic Botanical Garden
The Atlantic Botanical Garden was the first of its kind to be constructed in Northern Spain. The garden focuses on Atlantic flora and vegetation as well as hosting a variety of local events, such as concerts and workshops.
Archaeological Park of Campa de Torres
Located 7km from the centre of Gijon is the Archaeological Park of Campa de Torres. This astonishing park is dedicated to preserving and conserving the archaeological remains discovered in this area of northern Spain. The various ruins and remains that can be found in the park include ancient Asturian structures and great examples of the region’s Roman history and heritage.
