Goa, India Luxury Cruises

The Indian state of Goa is situated on the west coast of the country and is a former Portuguese colony with a long and fascinating history. Although Goa is India’s smallest state, it is still packed full of incredible attractions that draw tourists from across the world. The region’s stunning beaches are located all along the coastline, each with sandy shorelines and clean ocean waters. Goa is also well-known for its spectacular wildlife sanctuaries, which are home to a variety of intriguing species native to the area. The state’s illustrious history is also reflected in the array of ancient religious structures and fortresses that still remain standing to this day, and are now open to the public as sites of historical importance. Goa’s vibrant atmosphere and friendly ambience has created a fabulous cruise destination famed for its unique charm and vibrant culture.

Old Goa is brimming with rich culture, heritage and history and is home to a variety of historic structures from the region’s colonial past. Most of the old town is pedestrianised and guided tours of the area are available. Significant historic buildings found within Old Goa include the Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se’ Cathedral Church as well as religious structures such as the Chapel of Catherine and the Church of Lady of Rosary. This area of town also contains several interesting museums, including the Archaeology Museum and Portrait Gallery, Pilar Seminary Museum and the Sound and Light Gallery Museum.
