Incheon is located in the north western region of South Korea, to the west of Seoul. The city contains South Korea's second largest port with a population of nearly 3 million people. Due to its proximity to the South Korean capital, Incheon is situated within the Seoul National Capital Area, which has many economic and commercial advantages and benefits. This lively and bustling metropolis has a fascinating culture and heritage, famous as the landing place for American troops during the Korean War. Since then however, the city has expanded and grown into a busy metropolitan area and sea port utilised by businesses and individuals from across the world. The city boasts a plethora of fabulous attractions and wonderful sightseeing opportunities alongside many tranquil areas of natural beauty such as parks, gardens and green spaces.

Mount Manison is one of the region's highest peaks, standing at nearly 500 metres above sea level. The area was declared as a designated National Tourist Site in 1977 and the mountain paths offer fantastic hiking trails and spectacular views across the city and surrounding regions. The mountain is also home to several historical sites, including the splendid Jeongsusa Temple from the Goryeo era, as well as a vast and verdant forest. Visitors can choose from a range of superb trails leading up and around this dramatic mountain.
Several splendid islands are located off the coast of Incheon, each offering visitors a tranquil place to visit filled with lovely flora and fauna, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. These easily accessible, beautiful and popular islands include Muui-do, Deokjeokdo, Yeonpyeongdo, Ganghwado and Daecheongdo.
Situated close to the city's popular Chinatown district, Liberty Park is a quaint and peaceful place to take a walk and appreciate the area's terrific scenery. The park probably most famous for the statue of General MacArthur, amongst several other historic monuments, that have been erected there over the past century.
Several tremendous shopping districts and department stores are situated across city, at which tourists will find an array of gifts, souvenirs, arts, crafts and general amenities. Some of the best and most attractive shopping area's in Incheon are located at Bupyeong and the Arts Centre, where visitors can purchase from a variety of stores, from high-end fashion boutiques to independent gift shops.
There are several great areas around Incheon at which to discover a wealth of excellent restaurants and culinary options. The Wolmido harbour is the best place to find tempting seafood in a selection of top-quality restaurants, whilst other parts of the city, such as Bupyeoung and Chinatown, offer a wide range of delicious international cuisine from all over the world.
