Naval Station Norfolk

The Norfolk Naval Base is the largest naval station in the world and home to a total of 75 ships and 134 aircraft alongside 11 aircraft hangars and 14 piers. Virginia Zoological Park

Opened in 1900 and covering and areas of over 50 acres, Virginia Zoo is one of Norfolk’s most popular and fascinating tourist attractions. The zoo contains a wide range of mammalian, reptilian and avian exhibits including lions, tigers, zebras, ostriches and African elephants, alongside rare and exotic animals such as orangutans, siamangs and Malayan tapirs.

Norfolk Botanical Garden

Originally known as the Norfolk Azalea Garden, the Norfolk Botanical Garden covers an area of around 150 acres and also incorporates a beautiful arboretum filled with stunning species plants and trees. The gardens contain a variety of delightful themed exhibits including a winter garden, tropical garden, sunken garden, Japanese garden and bicentennial rose garden. Taking a casual stroll and observing the beauty of this botanical wonderland is a fantastic way to spend a relaxing day.

Shopping in Norfolk

Norfolk’s best shopping districts are the MacArthur Centre and Ghent, at which visitors will find a wide selection of souvenirs shops, chain stores and supermarkets selling gifts, fashion garments and general provisions.
