Scenic Neptune

Reflecting its Australian heritage, Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours has secured a series of original artworks from Byron Bay artist, Mitch Gobel, to feature on board Scenic Eclipse, The World’s First Discovery Yachts.™Best known for his work in abstract resin, Gobel started experimenting with resin, amongst other materials and his practice has evolved since into a wide variety of mixed media. Three original artworks were commissioned and a selection of 124 prints selected for display in all of the ship’s suites. Scenic Eclipse currently owns the largest collection of Mitch’s work.”Mitch’s work is a perfect complement to Scenic Eclipse”, said Karen Moroney, Project Director - Design, Scenic Group. “His works are truly beautiful. They reflect the colours and movement of the ocean and exhibit a passion for life and the environment, which is at the very essence of the design of Scenic Eclipse. “It was very important to us to include something uniquely and expressly Australian on this ship. Mitch’s work is a true reflection of the incredible talent in this country, and we are incredibly proud to be able to feature his works”, said Mrs Moroney. The three main pieces commissioned for Scenic Eclipse are part of The Melt collection – Costeria Amalfitana, Raja Ampat, and The Antarctic Peninsula. “The intention behind these works was to create a collection of art which illustrates a few specific oceanic environments of beauty and natural wealth,” said Mitch. “The artwork pays tribute to what we value from a positive perspective, as a reflection of our love, wonder and appreciation for the natural world.“These pieces invite you to dive into my perception of three very unique environments which we know are vital to the health, diversity and abundance of life in our oceans. These areas deserve great recognition, and conservation should be at the forefront of our consciousness towards them.”About the Artist “The art is both a practice I know well and a surprising process, continually evolving and in every way unique — the fluidity of the material's present a constant challenge. I aim to create space for the art to be its own creation while simultaneously manipulating and controlling the outcome. My experience of the art is what I consider to be a spiritual practice, and beyond egoic intervention, I endeavor to create from the heart. One of the most tranquil spaces on board will be the exclusive Spa Sanctuary boasting 550 square metres of pure indulgence. With world-class products and services, an afternoon’s pampering after a morning’s adventure will feel like absolute heaven.For a restorative experience, the Central Spa area includes a Vitality Lounge, hair salon and treatment rooms. Take a dip in the Scandinavian-inspired plunge pools or step inside to the saunas, steam rooms and relaxation areas.

Spa Sanctuary

Scenic Tours welcomes disabled guests but wishes all guests to understand that challenges will exist on-board and during shore excursions. While the ships have elevators, they do not service each deck. Furthermore, you should be aware that the ships also have split-level decks and/or significant thresholds that could make movement difficult. Under appropriate circumstances guests are permitted to use collapsible wheelchairs on-board. Shore excursions may require movement over cobblestones or up and down stairs; accordingly, guests with limited mobility will require the services of a responsible companion to be travelling with them, since crew availability is severely limited. Guests who have any medical, physical or other special needs should contact the travel advisors for further information and also view the deck plans to gain an understanding of the layout of any particular ship.

Disabled Facilities

Luxury expedition style cruising is not recommended for children under 12. Guests under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult and must share their accommodation with an adult. No children programs or babysitting services are available on board.

Age Restrictions

When you are relaxing on board, the dress code is smart casual and comfortable. Do not forget your swimsuits and exercise attire for the heated pools and plunge pools, the wellness areas and the gym, yoga and Pilates studio.For evenings, while there are no formal nights, the recommended on board dress code is elegant casual for most restaurants. Suggested attire for women includes a dress, skirt or slacks with a sweater or blouse, for men, trousers / pants and a collared shirt. A tie and jacket are optional, but not required.To ensure you are properly outfitted for your polar cruise, Scenic will provide you with a complimentary polar parka on selected voyages. You will receive your parka when you embark your cruise and is yours to keep as a memento. You will also have complimentary use of polar boots for the cruise duration. In addition to these items, it is imperative that you bring your own waterproof trousers. As we can only carry limited sizing’s, guests who may not fit into standard size boots, will need to provide their own boots. To keep feet warm, we recommend to look for insulated polar boots.

In most cases we are able to accommodate special requirements. Please provide as much detail as possible prior to your cruise departure of your dietary requirements to the Scenic Reservations team, or your travel agent.

Complimentary Internet facilities are available and Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the ship for your personal electronic devices. We cannot guarantee the availability or quality of the internet connections as this may vary according to destination and weather. Please note service will be limited in Polar and remote regions. Some sites also may not be accessible due to Scenic firewall/company protection.

For your peace of mind, Scenic Eclipse is equipped with a medical centre offering primary care, staffed by a doctor on call at all times. You must advise us prior to finalising your booking of any pre-existing medical conditions that might increase your risk of requiring medical attention, affecting the normal conduct of the cruise and / or the enjoyment of other cruise guests.It is important to note, however, that there are no hospitals or doctors available in polar and remote regions, and emergency evacuation is extremely difficult and expensive.Cruising conditions can be unpredictable and rough waters may be encountered at any time. If you suffer from sea sickness, please consult your Medical Practitioner prior to your cruise and carry the recommended preventative medications at all times. Our resident medical team are available to assist you with additional medication and services if required, with any relevant payments charged to your on board account.In order for us to ensure your comfort and safety, all guests need to complete an online medical form, which will be available 90 days prior to sailing.
