Celebrity Cruises are set to host the biggest UK event ever aboard Celebrity Edge. The Edge-Class flagship is visiting Southampton in May, where the Festival of Edge will take place.
The event will be similar to the ship’s launch, with two days to enjoy all of the ship’s features. It is set to be the biggest event which Celebrity Cruises has held in the UK and Irish market.
The Festival of Edge will be held over two days from 13 – 15 May. It will take Celebrity Edge out of her revenue service for the occasion, which the cruise line’s UK Managing Director, Jo Rzymowska said that it shows a testament to the strength of the UK market and ‘shows just how important the UK is.’
This is the first time the cruise line has ever taken a ship out of revenue service, but she added, “Lisa Lutoff-Perlo [Celebrity Cruises’ CEO] realises the importance of the UK and Irish market”.
Not too many details have been revealed at this stage, but the cruise line has already invited a number of agents on-board to experience the exclusive ‘Festival of Edge’ on-board. We are delighted to have been invited and have a team of staff eager to step on-board come May.
After the event, the ship will host the start of the CLIA conference on 15 May, then begin sailings between Barcelona and Rome for the remainder of the summer before heading back to Fort Lauderdale.
