Construction begins today on Seabourn’s latest cruise ship – Seabourn Ovation. To commemorate this moment, a steel-cutting ceremony is being held at Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa, Italy, attended by Seabourn President Richard Meadows and Genoa shipyard Director Raffaele Davassi.
The new ship is scheduled to set sail in spring 2018. Along with a sister ship, Seabourn Encore, launching in late 2016, the new addition will mean that Seabourn has the youngest fleet of all luxury cruise lines.
Seabourn Ovation will have Seabourn’s largest ratio of space per guest, carrying just 600 passengers, with a private balcony to every suite. The modern design elements will be consistent with Seabourn’s vision of understated elegance.
