Crystal Cruises begins anniversary celebrations in style

Ultra luxury line Crystal Cruises has already launched its 25th anniversary in spectacular style with a 108-night Silver Celebration World Cruise on-board Crystal Serenity which set sail last week from Miami and which will call at South America, South Africa and the South Pacific’s most memorable destinations. Crystal Serenity’s sister vessel Crystal Symphony meanwhile, begins her 2015 in Asia, exploring the highlights of China, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Throughout the year, celebrations will take place on a number of Crystal sailings, with special receptions and parties taking place on-board and a number of European sailings hosted by the line’s president Edie Rodriguez and Chairman Nobuyoshi Kuzuya. In addition, four of the line’s much-loved captains, Glenn Edvardsen, Reidulf Maalen, Helge Brudvik and John Økland will host festivities on a number of other sailings. The line also chose its silver anniversary as the year in which it will visit no fewer than 24 ports that it has never called at before, including Arrecife in the Canary Islands, Aomori in Japan, Belawan in Indonesia and Scarborough in Trinidad and Tobago.

So what else is there to enjoy on-board during Crystal’s anniversary year? Well, there’s a new-look Crystal Symphony for one thing, which after emerging from dry dock last year, now features an outdoor Fitness Garden, a redesigned lobby and PURE allergy-friendly staterooms. Then there’s the new Late Risers adventures, which allow passengers to explore each port of call but without missing out on a little extra sleep and for the more active luxury cruiser, Sightseeing on the Run, which allows passengers to take in the sights while keeping fit.

It’s not all about 2015 though and being true to its reputation for always looking ahead, Crystal cruises has already revealed its 2017 itinerary roster, when it will visit a total of 268 ports, 32 of them maiden calls in such exciting destinations as Maroantsetra in Madagascar and Santa Margherita in Italy. The year will also see then line return to the Middle East, when the Crystal Symphony becomes one of the first luxury vessels to visit Doha in Quatar and also in what is great news for lovers of the Mediterranean, more choice than ever before and some exciting new itineraries. 2017 will also see the line’s first South African holiday cruise – a round-trip from Cape Town which will offer cruisers the opportunity to embark on their very own safari adventure or two as a particular highlight of their voyage.
