Ultra-luxury line Crystal Cruises is celebrating its silver anniversary in 2015, with special voyages being headlined by the line’s president, chairman and its best-loved captains. Crystal’s premium ship accommodations, the Crystal Penthouses and Penthouse Suites, are also selling incredibly quickly for voyages in 2015.
Next year sees Crystal marking 25 years of ultra-luxury cruising to the most beautiful holiday destinations on Earth, and to celebrate the line has announced some special guests and grand parties on its two ships, Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity, which will be setting sail on themed voyages all over the world.
Six special Experiences of Discovery themed cruises will see Crystal passengers spoiled with luxurious receptions and grand parties, celebrating the line’s history in the company of previous captains and Crystal Cruises’ top management.
Four of these will be special “Captain’s Cruises”, which will see guests joined by the likes of Captain Reidulf Maalen, who headed the line’s first ship Crystal Harmony – as well as retired Captain Helge Brudvik, who commanded Crystal Symphony in her first year on the seas.
“We’re thrilled to welcome some of our most beloved captains back on-board to celebrate this milestone, as they have each played a significant role in our 25-year history of extraordinary worldwide explorations,” said Crystal’s President Edie Rodriguez. “Our anniversary theme cruises will be like Crystal family reunions, made even more special with our ship ‘masters’ returning home to celebrate with us.”
Along with two July sailings to Western Europe and the Arctic Circle, hosting Crystal Cruises’ President Edie Rodriguez and Chairman Nobuyoshi Kuzuya respectively, the line also has an outstanding choice of more Experiences of Discovery voyages sailing throughout 2015:
- Wine & Food Festival cruises in Asia (January) and the Mediterranean (November)
- Music-themed Ballroom at Sea Transatlantic voyages in June and December
- A Pacific Coast jazz cruise and a Film & Theatre Transatlantic sailing in May
- Two Mediterranean “Emerging Artists” sailings for May and June, featuring new musical talent from the Music Centre of Los Angeles
- A July cruise around the British Isles tailored especially for golf lovers
- Live debates with leading figures in world affairs during three parts of Crystal’s 108-night Silver Celebration world cruise
Top Crystal Cruises suites selling out for 2015
To coincide with the line’s upcoming silver anniversary celebrations, Crystal Cruises is also seeing huge demand for its premium suites for voyages next year. Crystal Penthouse premium accommodations have already sold out on Crystal Symphony’s July 2015 cruise to Oslo, Copenhagen, Helsinki and St Petersburg, with very limited choice remaining for her Penthouse Suites too – which feature Jacuzzis, private verandas and a personal butler service.
The same is true for two of Crystal Symphony’s October 2015 sailings taking in New York, Boston, Bar Harbor, Nova Scotia, Quebec and Montreal – with Crystal Penthouses already having sold out, and Penthouse Suites also selling fast. A similar third itinerary on 24 October still has suites remaining in both categories, but given the current demand we don’t expect them to be available for long.
We’ve seen the same high level of demand for Crystal Symphony’s December 2015 sailing in the Caribbean, with very limited choice remaining on Penthouse Suites – and highly desirable Crystal Penthouses having completely sold out.
Crystal Serenity’s June and July sailings to the Mediterranean, meanwhile, have already sold out in the top suite categories. There are still selected third-berth Penthouse Suites and Deluxe Staterooms to choose from however, so there’s still time to book if you’d love to see Monte Carlo, St Tropez, Valencia and Barcelona in 2015 – or set sail for Ibiza, Cartagena, Casablanca, Portimao and Lisbon on a second Mediterranean itinerary.
Many luxury cruises involve flights before your voyage begins, but there are also sailings straight from British ports if you’d prefer to holiday closer to home. Crystal Serenity’s British Isles cruise in July 2015 sets sail from Dover for Guernsey, Holyhead, Glasgow, Dublin and more, heading out from the English Channel to Portland in Maine and back to Jersey. While Crystal Penthouses have sold out on this sailing, a few Penthouse Suites are still available if you’d like to take the ultimate luxury tour of Britain and Ireland.
Comprehensive luxury cruises in Western Europe and the Mediterranean are always popular with travellers, and next summer Crystal Serenity will be operating a range of four different sailings touring a variety of destinations like Barcelona, Istanbul, Malta, Mykonos, Monte Carlo and Civitavecchia, the gateway to Rome. The first of these Mediterranean sailings in August 2015 has very limited availability in its top suites, and we’re expecting the rest of these sailings to follow suit very soon for September and October.
