Construction milestone for Crystal Endeavour

Passing an important construction milestone on her journey to join the fleet, Crystal Endeavour’s first piece of steel has been cut at MV WERFTEN Shipyard in Stralsund, Germany.

The ship is part of Crystal’s Yacht Expedition fleet, renowned for promoting a boutique-hotel-on-water lifestyle and coveted attention to detail, defining the cruise line’s reputation for excellence.

The next level of exploration

Due to debut in 2020, Crystal Endeavour will be the largest and most spacious purpose-built Polar Class ship, featuring the cruise line’s celebrated service and hospitality, all-suite butler-serviced accommodation and unmatched experiences for bold adventures.

In response to travellers’ feedback and enthusiasm for the previous launch of Crystal Espirit, Crystal Endeavour will be the world’s first purpose-built Polar Class mega yacht, boasting 100 guest suites and measuring 600 feet long.

The 200-guest yacht will offer adventures via land, sea and air as the first purpose-built Polar Code compliant yacht in the world with a PC6 Polar Class designation, allowing guests to voyage to the icy depths of the polar regions throughout the autumn and summer months.

Collaboration of discovery

Crystal President and CEO, Tom Wolber, said:

“We are pleased to collaborate again with the experts at MV WERFTEN as we work toward a vision for Crystal Endeavour that truly embodies the spirit of discovery of Crystal Yacht Expedition Cruises.”

Wolber attended the ceremony held on the shipyard alongside the Chairman and CEO of Genting Hong Kong (Crystal’s parent company), Group President of GH, CEO of MV WERFTEN, as well as local dignitaries including the Economics Minister of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the Lord Mayor of Stralsund.

Chairman and CEO of Genting Hong Kong, Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, said:

“We look forward to this innovative expedition yacht with great anticipation in the Stralsund shipyard. A highlight is our investment of over 20-million euros in new equipment so that the Sralsund shipyard will be able to continue to build cruise ships efficiently in the future.”
