First announced earlier this year, Oceania Cruises are undertaking a complete transformation of the fleet – which has investment of $100-million to fulfil what is set to be a stunning re-imagination of these luxury cruise ships.
OceaniaNEXT is set to upgrade the fleet’s four oldest ships in the Regatta-Class, Regatta, Sirena. Insignia and Nautica – with these further enhancements on the Oceania-Class also underway.
Alongside this re-imagination of OceaniaNEXT, both Riviera and Marina are also undergoing a transformation of their own.
First steps of the transformation
The cruise line has recently unveiled the first upgrades of this transformation on-board Marina and Riviera. Both the ships’ Owner’s Suites are set to be completed redesigned, featuring Ralph Lauren furnishings.
Trevor R. Howells Interior Design of California has guided the design of these suites, combining ‘Ralph Lauren’s passions for sailing’ with ‘Hollywood glamour and timeless classical beauty’.
The colour palette includes creams, navy, white and caramel with accents of metallic and fabrics. Each of the Owner’s Suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows set upon a limestone and black cabochon inset floor and walls of Georgian wood panelling.
Other signature style additions include a Barrett Kurled chandelier in the dining room, hanging over a Mayfair dining table and a Cate D-Azure, king-sized bed with Mayfair Bergere side chairs. The wrap-around veranda will also be furnished with custom pieces by Ralph Lauren Home.
Oceania’s President and CEO, Bob Binder said:
“As we are always looking for ways to elevate the guest experience, we took the opportunity to completely re-master these suites and provide our guests with an entirely new experience. Everything from the furnishings to the artwork is new, and guests will feel as though they are sailing aboard one of the world’s most glamorous yachts or living in an opulent estate home.”
The plans will go ahead in April 2019 for Riviera, then May 2020 for Marina, alongside more enhancements which are due to be revealed at a later date.
