Seeing double: Scenic launches second ocean cruise ship

After the phenomenal success of the World’s First Discovery Yacht, Scenic have recently announced they are expanding the fleet to two ships.

Scenic Eclipse is to be duplicated to strengthen Scenic’s position within the cruising industry and offer guests an unparalleled benchmark in design, technology and luxury.

The second World’s Discovery Yacht

This ship will launch in 2020 and will be of a similar design to the initial Scenic Eclipse. With 114 all-verandah suites, nine restaurants, eight lounges and bars, a luxurious Spa Sanctuary, indoor and outdoor pools, as well as helicopters and a submarine – guests will be sure to experience it all on-board this ultimate-luxury ship.

Scenic Founder and Chairman, Glen Moroney, said:

“Since we first announced our foray into ocean cruising we have had unprecedented interest in Scenic Eclipse, from guests keen to experience our unique blend of 6-star luxury meets expedition cruising.

“The debut of the second ship will not only allow us to expand our offering and pioneer new destinations, such as the Russian Arctic, it will also allow us to continue our passion for innovation in design and innovation in handcrafted itineraries, which we are confident will appeal to a wide variety of guests.”

Explore the world with inspirational itineraries

This second Scenic ocean ship will feature itineraries across remote and sought-after destinations such as Russia’s White Sea, the Northwest Passage, Southern Greenland and the stark beauty between Alaska and Russia across the Bering Sea.

With these luxurious voyages, explorers at heart will enjoy the delights of untamed territories and un-spoilt scenery across the globe.

Look forward to sailing with Scenic Eclipse

The initial member of the fleet is currently under construction at a shipyard in Croatia, scheduled to debut in August later this year. The ship will offer guests the ultimate all-inclusive experience with all meals, drinks, gratuities, Wi-Fi and shore excursions included within the cruise fare.

Her maiden voyage will include the Americas, Antarctica, Europe, the Mediterranean, the Arctic and Fjords. Take a look for yourself here and find your perfect sailing aboard the World’s First Discovery Yacht.

The secondary member of the fleet is not due to launch and begin sailing until 2020, when she will be every bit as extraordinary as her forerunning sister. Whether you choose to sail sooner with the first Scenic Eclipse in 2018 or later, in 2020, you’re bound to experience a sailing of luxurious standards you’ve never witnessed before.
