Upgraded Crystal Symphony emerges from dry dock

Crystal Symphony completed her two-week, $20 million renovation in dry dock at the end of September, and now features some brand-new upgrades and beautifully redesigned public spaces both inside and out.
Public spaces
Following Crystal Symphony’s redesign the Crystal Plaza has been given a dramatic new look, featuring custom carpets, new upholstery and even a waterfall to wow guests when they board – and to create an enticing contemporary space for passengers to meet up and relax during their voyage.
A new-look Cove Bar puts the bar itself as the living centrepiece of the space, and repositions the seats around it – while a new cream and indigo colour palette, revised artworks and new carpet and furnishings combine to create a sense of flow through the venue.
New tiles and wall coverings add extra colour to Crystal Symphony’s luxury spa and salon too, which has also received a new pedicure area – while new furniture and decor in the updated Bistro create extra meet-up appeal in one of the ship’s most popular social spots.
Staterooms
After nearly 25 years in the business Crystal Cruises has comfort and relaxation at sea down to a fine art, and Crystal Symphony’s new stateroom additions have been designed to make guests more comfortable than ever before.
Along with all-new carpets in Deluxe Staterooms and guest corridors, Deck 10 staterooms and Penthouses now feature stylish verandah furniture for guests to sit back and watch their next port come into view during breakfast. Best of all, Crystal Symphony now boasts 48 luxury staterooms which have been converted into PURE hypoallergenic accommodations, featuring medical-grade air purifiers to filter out allergens and impurities for sounder sleep and relief from allergies – effectively giving you the atmospheric equivalent of purified drinking water.
New Tech
It’s not just the interior design that’s been getting some attention during Crystal Symphony’s two-week session in dry dock. The ship’s upgraded Casino features updated slot machines and has even had its port-side wall taken away, resulting in a more open, airy space for guests to meet up and enjoy a drink or two around the tables.
Guests will also find it easier than ever to keep up to date on their cruise and on-board events with the help of all-new digital signage around the ship, which can be found close to Crystal Symphony’s theatres, lounges, sales areas and dining venues.
One of the biggest changes is Symphony’s brand-new Fitness Garden area spanning the aft of the seventh, eight and twelfth decks, offering guests a full suite of premium training equipment by big brands Artis and Technogym. Symphony’s new indoor fitness facilities are all about connectivity, featuring an ultra-modern Unity system that lets passengers access TV, music and data on their workout while they train.
