What currency will be need on a cruise in and outside Europe? We’re going through Greece, UAE and on to India.

For this cruise, you’ll need to take some Euro with you, as this is the currency of Greece. Euro is the most easily obtainable currency and stocked by all travel agents and post offices which offer currency exchange services. In UAE, you’ll need United Arab Emirates Dirham. The exchange rates for this currency are sometimes high in the UK, so it’s a good idea to take extra Euro with you and convert some of it to United Arab Emirates Dirham while there, as you’re likely to find an exchange house offering competitive rates. The currency in India is the Rupee, but you’re not permitted to take the currency in and out of the country, so again, you’ll need to exchange some of the currency while in India. You can again use some of your extra Euro, but India is one country where sterling will be fine if you have some, because of the countries’ cultural connections. Change a small amount of money at first, so you won’t lose out if you have to change rupees back to Euro or sterling.
