Windstar’s food cruise

Windstar Cruises, one of the most luxurious operators with yacht-style cruising, has announced a partnership with renowned culinary magazine Saveur to offer a food and drink-themed cruise in April 2014.

The cruise will focus on discovering the culinary cultures of the visited regions over eight days, departing from Lisbon and sailing to Cadiz, Malaga, Almeria, Cartagena, Valencia and Soller before ending in Barcelona, with a focus on the local traditional dishes and wines that are available.

Guests booking early not only get the chance to save but they’ll also receive a one-year subscription to the magazine.

Hans Birkholz, the chief executive officer of Windstar Cruises, said “We are excited to partner with Saveur in order to bring our guests closer to exploring the world of food in the destinations we sail to throughout the world. Our new Culinary & Wine Delights of Spain voyage allowed food and wine connoisseurs to revel in the highly acclaimed Spanish cruise and wine all while exploring its culture and beautiful landscapes.”

Cooking demonstrations, vineyard tours, wine lectures, hosted dinners and complimentary local wines are all on the agenda, making for a fun and varied itinerary that is sure to delight travellers on-board.

Windstar Cruises aren’t the only cruise line looking to culinary partnerships for special events and itineraries. Seabourn Cruises partnered with On The Road Culinary Adventures recently, while Paul Gauguin have created a wide range of specialist sailings including wine tasting, pizza cooking, truffle hunting and more.
