I have just returned back from an incredible few days on the newest ship from Oceania Cruises, Vista. The first new ship from the cruise line in 10 years, she was highly anticipated and was certainly worth the wait.

We embarked in Genoa and visited Monte Carlo and Livorno, before disembarking in Rome. As soon as I stepped on-board, my initial reaction was “Wow!”, I loved the décor and the stunning centrepiece stretching up from deck five to deck six. It really created a great first impression.

I was then able to start exploring, what truly is a beautiful ship. Oceania Cruises still kept all the main points of their previous ships, with exquisite restaurants and the lovely Aquamar Spa Terrace, with great views of the front of the ship.  Here you can relax in a quieter area of the ship, with comfortable sunbeds, hot tubs, a plunge pool and views of the sea. It is in this area you also have the Spa for treatments and the fitness centre, allowing you to indulge in wellness your way.

The pool area on deck twelve had lots of seating, both in the open and with the option of shade. The beds were extremely comfortable and relaxing.

The service around the pool was great, with staff often on hand to supply the refreshing drinks from Waves Bar, whether that be soft drinks, water or one of the cocktails.

I was allocated a Veranda Stateroom on deck eight. This was spacious, with a nice large bathroom and walk-in shower. There was good storage for clothes, with a wardrobe and numerous drawers. The balcony had a small table and two chairs, so if you wanted to order breakfast on your balcony and enjoy the views, you could.

Now, my highlight of the whole trip was the incredible food that was on offer. There was such variety across the different restaurants. They still have Toscana, Polo Grill and Red Ginger, which have always been loved on Oceania. They have removed Jacques, but you are still able to get some of the classic Jacques dishes in the Grand Dining Room.

The new dining concepts, Ember and Aquamar Kitchen are a great addition. Aquamar Kitchen is a great way to start the day off with a healthy breakfast and the food in Ember was delicious.

In addition to all of this, Vista also still has the Culinary Centre and the Artist’s Loft. If you want to try out your creative side, either artistically or via food, these are definitely worth checking out.

This exciting new ship is bringing a new guest experience, from the stunning decor, to the new gastronomical delights you can enjoy on-board, with new staterooms including French Balcony staterooms and specially designed staterooms for solo passengers. Vista really is a ship bringing new luxurious touches to the fore.

Having worked for here since 2014, I have been lucky enough to experience some incredible cruise lines and visit some great places. I love organising cruise holidays for other people and happy to assist with all the little things. Whether it's an ocean cruise, an expedition cruise or a river cruise, I am sure you won't be disappointed. With lots of different options and so many different itineraries, here at Six Star Cruises, I am sure I will be able to find something that works for you. We can also add on pre- and post-cruise extensions, whether that be the Golden Triangle, Rocky Mountaineer or just a luxury hotel stay, all you have to do is ask.
