With a view to making the luxurious even more luxurious, Crystal Cruises recently announced that it intends to spend an impressive $17 million redesigning Crystal Serenity.
For a vessel that the line says is known as ‘quite simply the very best cruise ship in the world’ that’s quite impressive and shows that there’s certainly no complacency when it comes to delivering six star voyages where Crystal Cruises is concerned. Indeed, it’s not the first revamp the ship has undergone in the last two years, with $25 million being spent on her the last time she was given an extensive makeover.
Serenity’s sister ship Crystal Symphony has certainly not missed out on the action either and has also undergone millions of dollars-worth of refurbishments in recent years.
But what’s new? Well, after a two-week dry dock in the popular port of Cadiz in Spain, the ship will emerge with all her penthouse accommodation being refurbished along with the Lido Deck’s dining areas.
These refurbishments, which add up to a cool $120 million for both ships, don’t just amount to a new carpet or two and the odd lick of paint, as Crystal Cruises president Gregg Michel explains:
“Redesigns aren’t merely new fabrics and furnishings. It is indeed extreme when you take out pools, tear down walls and completely re-invent spaces to create new stylish, contemporary and exceptionally welcoming and comfortable public areas and accommodations. While we are honoured to have won respected design awards for our remodels, we are even more gratified by the response from our guests – international travellers who have an eye for style and appreciate fine design in their lifestyle and when they holiday.”
So, expect some stylish changes for better if you step aboard the ship in the New Year!
