Oceania Cruises treats vegan travellers to plant-based delights

Plate of roasted vegetables

Renowned as the best value in luxury cruising, upper premium cruise line, Oceania Cruises, is known for its refined dining experience. Now, Oceania is making its tantalising cuisine more accessible to an even wider audience, launching an expansive menu of more than 250 plant-based dishes and drinks.

Fleet-wide dishes for vegan cruise passengers

The Oceania cruise line has introduced new vegan menus on-board all six of its ships. Oceania Regatta, Insignia, Nautica, Marina, Riviera and Sirena now all supply dishes that will tempt and delight those who are trying to live a more conscious lifestyle.

“We are delighted to expand our culinary offerings to please an even wider array of palates and offer our guests more diverse choices to suit today’s wellness-focused lifestyles,” said Bob Binder, President & CEO of Oceania Cruises.

And ‘please’ these dishes will, as passengers won’t just find the odd dull salad or standard falafel wrap.

Vegan cuisine to write home about

Oceania Cruises has made sure that its vegan offering is as carefully considered as its meat-based fine dining. For breakfast, guests will be able to choose from not one, but nine vegan dishes and sides. How does Vegan Tortilla Española with potato, onions and tofu sound? Or tantalising vanilla waffles with fresh fruit?

Oceania’s lunch menu is no less impressive. Dishes include a pasta dish made with spinach, tofu and capers, and a dessert option of vegan Italian chocolate ricotta pie with vanilla and raspberry sauce. And finally, as you settle down for an intimate evening meal, you will be offered a changing five-course menu. Thai red curry, parsnip soup with chopped tarragon, and shortbread with passion fruit cream and strawberries are just a few of the tempting options.

Plant-based progress

Veganism in the UK is growing faster than ever before. In fact, the number of vegans has risen by around 360% in the last ten years. In the past year alone, sales of vegan food have increased by a huge 1500%. It was only natural that luxury cruises started catering specifically for vegan passengers, and over the coming months, we expect to see even more luxury cruise lines joining Oceania with vegan menus.
