Silversea Expeditions is celebrating this week after being announced as the winner of the Specialist Cruise Line of the Year award at the TTG Travel Awards in 2013.
The awards were dished out at a glamorous ceremony held at the prominent location of the Odeon West End in Leicester Square on 10th September, before an after-party that took place in the ballroom at the renowned Savoy Hotel.
Silversea Expeditions had some tough competition in this award, including river cruise lines such as AmaWaterways, Avalon Waterways and Riviera Travel, and other specialist ocean lines including Azamara Club Cruises, Hurtigruten, Swan Hellenic and Voyages of Discovery. It’s also the first time that Silversea Cruises has won this award in a UK event.
The evening was a huge success in its own right, with a 1920s-inspired dress code that saw people wearing beautiful and sophisticated outfits welcomed onto the red carpet as flashbulbs went off all around. The evening itself was then hosted partially by popular comedian Alan Carr.
Silversea Expeditions is part of the wider Silversea Cruises fleet, with a focus on heading to more unusual parts of the world, exploring breath-taking natural landscapes and undertaking excursions designed to broaden horizons. It was only this week that the line announced the addition of a third ship to the fleet, the Silver Discoverer.
There are various different itineraries that guests can book with when looking at Silversea Expeditions cruises, including those to the South Pacific islands, the Galapagos Islands, Antarctica and the East of Russia. And every cruise passenger can enjoy a true life of luxury on-board, including butler service in suites, exceptional dining and stylish accommodation.
It’s a fantastic achievement by Silversea Expeditions to win this award, and here at Six Star Cruises we doff our caps to them and hope that everyone involved had a great night celebrating.
