Cruises from the UK aren’t as popular in the six star market as they are more with family cruise lines. I think there’s definitely an element of people looking further afield for their luxury cruises. Many people who want to enjoy a special cruise line also want to enjoy a special destination, and sometimes that means simply travelling to the furthest reaches of the world.
But cruises from the UK don’t have to be duller. If anything they can be more exciting – you get the chance to see parts of Europe that you might not have visited before, or that you’ve only seen in passing. And of course, with six star cruise lines you see these destinations in the best way possible. Your magnificent moving hotel offers the finest experience you could imagine.
Benefits to cruises from the UK
Cruises from the UK have a number of benefits over fly cruises, some of which can be quite appealing to luxury travellers. Firstly there’s the fact that instantly by removing the flying element, a lot of the travel stress is removed. Airports can be a nightmare sometimes, so if you could just drive to the port, or arrive by train or taxi, and step on-board, you can relax much sooner.
Also there’s the question of luggage. Cruises from the UK that return to a UK port have no luggage limit. So instead of worrying about how much you can carry onto your flight, just pack as much as you can fit in the cabin. This can be very useful if you want to enjoy more of the formal nights.
There’s a real comfort to UK cruises, it just feels easier, and there’s some kind of enjoyment of seeing this magnificent ships in a port that’s often not too far from home. And there is still plenty of variety in the cruises available – you can book with Crystal Cruises, Silversea Cruises and Seabourn Cruise Line, to destinations in the Baltics, around the Norwegian Fjords, Iceland, the UK and Western Europe including Holland, Belgium and France.
Obviously if you’ve a burning desire to see Asia, Australia or the Caribbean, you may be best served with a cruise that flies you out to a port abroad for the start of your cruise. But don’t dismiss cruises from the UK instantly. They offer some of the most relaxing holidays imaginable.
