Windstar Cruises, the luxury yachting cruise line, has announced itineraries for the new ship that joins the fleet from Seabourn in May 2014, renamed as the Star Pride. Later in the year, the ship will sail Southeast Asia and Arabia – a first for the cruise line.
It’s an exciting time as the first of three Seabourn ships is due to join the fleet, and adding in itineraries in new parts of the world helps to expand the overall appeal of Windstar Cruises even more. By the time the Seabourn Pride, Seabourn Legend and Seabourn Spirit have all joined Windstar Cruises’ fleet, there will be many great options that passengers will be able to choose from.
The CEO of Windstar Cruises, Hans Birkholz, said “Small ship cruising is an incredible way to explore this part of the world. There are tremendous experiences to be had from the ancient cliff city of Petra to the colourful Ho Chi Minh City.”
Before this announcement, itineraries that were available on the yachts in the Windstar fleet mainly focused around the Caribbean, ports in Europe and those around the South Pacific, exploring smaller ports that many larger ships simply cannot access due to their size. There’s a real focus on special destinations, so guests have the complete luxury experience.
The season in this region will last for six months, beginning with a voyage from the Med port of Athens to Dubai. A 15-night itinerary then sees the Star Pride travelling to Singapore, with ports around the Indian Ocean visited. Then it’s a number of cruises fixated on the Southeast Asia region, with guests having the chance to see Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong, Singapore and many other popular and scenic ports. At the end of the season the ship will return to Athens in April 2015.
