The Seabourn Conversations programme offers guests on-board Seabourn the chance to interact and engage with inspiring and informative speakers.
It’s a popular on-board enrichment activity which allows distinguished speakers the chance to share their stories and enlighten guests across a wide variety of expert fields including space exploration, mountaineering, television production, history, politics and the arts.
Seabourn Conversations 2018/2019 Programme
The cruise line has recently released its line-up of the next season’s series, which will continue to inform and inspire guests on board their respective cruises with Seabourn Sojourn, Seabourn Ovation and Seabourn Encore.
These include:
- Bryan Fogel (Seabourn Sojourn, 19 November 2018) – An Academy-Award winning American film director, producer, author and playwright, best known for his 2017 documentary Icarus.
- Captain Scott Kelly (Seabourn Encore, 3 December 2018) – One of a selected group of Americans to travel into space and author of his best-selling memoir Endurance: My Year in Space and Our Journey to Mars, he has many stories to share and reflections on testing his limits, leadership and teamwork.
- Dean McFlicker (Seabourn Ovation, 4 December 2018) – Award-winning producer and director for NBC Entertainment, McFlicker will share his experiences creating campaigns for shows such as The Voice, This Is Us, Law and Order and America’s Got Talent. He has also worked on Broadway and on many music videos and international concerts in Hollywood.
- Pamela Chen (Seabourn Ovation, 19 January 2019) – Combining her love for cooking, design background and cultural heritage, Pamela offers insight into her Taiwanese roots, presenting a unique and authentic experience which blends the eastern and western cultures and lifestyles.
- Armando Manni (Seabourn Ovation, 16 February 2019) – Film director, gourmet and entrepreneur as well as Golden Globe winning, Armando founded MANNI Oil in 2001. He also owns Casa MANNI Roma, designed by Adam D. Tihany – who also fashioned the interiors of Seabourn Ovation and Seabourn Encore.
- Ben Taggie (Seabourn Ovation, 2 March 2019) – Professor of History Emeritus at the University of Massachusetts, Ben offers Asian, medieval and classical history specialities. Along with his wife Louise, they founded MSA Cultural Tours which offers educational tours to venues such as Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Ben is also the President of the Mediterranean Studies Association which is devoted to international education and research.
- Paul Deegan (Seabourn Sojourn, 5 March 2019) – Seasoned climber of mountainous regions and award-winning author, Paul was the co-leader of the first environmental expedition to Mount Everest aged just 18.
- Steve Wozniak (Seabourn Ovation, 21 December 2019) – Designer of the hardware, circuit board designs and operating system for the Apple I personal computer, Steve was awarded the National Medal of Technology by President Ronald Reagan in 1985 and the Hoover Medal in 2014. His autobiography iWoz: From Computer Geek to Cult Icon was a New York Times bestseller.
It seems there is something for everyone during these 2018 and 2019 sailings, perfectly paired with the cruise line’s expedition-style excursion program, Ventures by Seabourn, which offers outdoor adventures in selected destinations across Alaska, Antarctica, Europe, Australia and Southeast Asia.
