If you’re a regular reader of these blogs, you’ll remember just how excited we were when we first told you about Seven Seas Explorer – the ultra-luxurious new ship from Regent Seven Seas Cruises set to launch in summer 2016 and become the most opulent vessel afloat. Since then, we’ve kept you up to date with news about both the ship, its features and the itineraries it will be offering and although it’s certainly not news that you expect an incredible dining experience on-board, we’ve not been able to share with you any specific details of the ship’s new restaurants until now.
Cruising gourmands then, will be delighted to learn that Seven Seas Explorer will feature a brand-new speciality restaurant, Chartreuse. French cuisine is of course noted for its style and flair and its incredible dishes are guaranteed to offer both, showcasing classic menus delivered with a refreshingly modern twist and using only the finest ingredients. Just to get your taste buds tingling and to give you an idea of how authentic a dining experience Chartreuse is set to be, here’s a sneak peak at some menu highlights:
Hand-cut Charolais steak tartare in a hazelnut-Dijon emulsion topped with Perlita caviar d’Aquitaine
Roasted Cévennes rack of lamb with rosemary-mint persillade and sugar snap pea sauce,
Poached Brittany blue lobster tail glazed with caramelized lobster roe butter on a bed of Sologne white asparagus and Romanesco.
Frozen Chartreuse parfait with almond crumble and classic savarin cake made with aged Martinique rum and topped with vanilla cream
Of course, the perfect setting compliments any meal and the French feel is something which will become apparent as soon as you arrive, with flooring designed to resemble a traditional Parisian street, art nouveau décor creating a perfect French ambience and towards the rear of the restaurant, a separate area designed to replicate that famous French alfresco experience.
Chartreuse is open for orders in summer 2016 and to make sure you don’t miss your chance to sample its delights for yourself, take a look at the Seven Seas Explorer sailings that we have available on our website, then call our Cruise Concierge team to book your place. A word of advice though – the ship’s inaugural cruise sold out very quickly, so you’ll have to be quick to experience this fantastic restaurant and ship in 2016.
