If I’m honest there are only two drawbacks that I can see to a cruise holiday, but that is just my opinion. These are that you’re limited (and I use this term in its most loose form possible) to destinations that are within a reasonable distance of the coast, and that you often don’t get enough time to explore some of the magnificent ports that you’ll visit as there is simply so much to see.
But what if there was a type of holiday that could, depending on what you were looking for, eliminate either one or both of these problems and still let you experience the greatness of a cruise? That’s where a cruise and stay package comes in handy.
A cruise and stay package is simple – you take a cruise holiday and you add a hotel stay either before you set sail, after the cruise is finished or even both. It’s up to you whether you book a stay in the city where your cruise embarks or disembarks or if you book one somewhere else along with connecting transfers, so that everything is taken care of for you.
This opens up a whole world of possibilities, letting you tailor a package that is absolutely ideal for what you’re looking for. You can opt for a cruise and stay deal in any destination around the world, giving you complete freedom. Here I’ve highlighted some ideas but don’t feel like this is it – you really could do anything you wanted to.
The Caribbean is one of the most desirable destinations in the world but often you may feel, with so much to see on each different island, that you don’t get all the time you want to relax and enjoy either the local scenery or simply unwinding on the beach.
The Caribbean Islands are also home to some of the most luxurious beach hotels you’ll find anywhere in the world, including five star resorts on Barbados for example. Or alternatively you could book a stay on the mainland of the US, whether in Miami or Orlando to enjoy the sun and relaxing lifestyle of Florida or in New York City with its many city-based attractions.
The Mediterranean is another popular cruise destination and it is full of cities that make for a great base as part of a cruise and stay deal. Barcelona is littered with amazing attractions that could easily take you more than a day to explore comfortably, while Rome has a great mix of historical landmarks and contemporary culture that can definitely keep you entertained over a number of days. Or you may fancy a quiet getaway with your partner in the most romantic city in the world, Venice.
Uncover the excitement of the Far East, with a luxury break in a city hotel in Tokyo or Singapore, or a touch of paradise in Bali. Or you can head to the South Pacific with a luxury hotel in Sydney or Auckland while you explore the many ports of Australasia.
Maybe South America is more to your liking, or northern Europe with a hotel in Russia or the Scandinavian states. There are so many options that you truly can create the holiday of your dreams when you opt for a cruise and stay getaway.
