My first impression of Azamara Quest upon arrival in Malaga was that she felt intimate and welcoming, with a classic, elegant style. Quest will be the first of the four ships to receive the Azamara Forward refurbishment - this will see public spaces and staterooms alike reimagined. Lighter colours will be used to replace the darker woods, and pale blue and ocean tones will be introduced to give it a contemporary light feel. Guests can expect a ship that is fresh, light and modern, inspired by the sea and sky.

Service is one of Azamara's standout features and plays a big role in shaping the overall experience. The crew were warm, approachable and attentive, which created a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in every venue we visited.
Discoveries is the main dining room. For breakfast, it is à la carte, with a wide selection of breakfast items on the menu and the staff coming around with pastries. In the evening, it is a relaxed dining experience with open seating; you can dine alone or on larger tables with other guests if desired. There are large windows which give natural light and serene sea views. The menu changes nightly and offers a mix of classic dishes and destination–inspired cuisine, often reflecting the region the ship is visiting. I tried something different each evening, from local sea bass to Maryland crab cake to linguine with lobster.

Windows Cafe is a buffet restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with lots of seating and a small outdoor area. The buffet changes daily, so if you had lunch and dinner there every day, you wouldn't be eating the same things. I also tried The Patio, a very relaxed venue, which serves simple, freshly prepared food like burgers and nachos, and changes to a more refined al fresco restaurant in the evening.
Azamara puts a huge focus on destination immersion with overnight stays in port and docking right in the heart of each location. During my sailing, we stopped in Cadiz and were able to step off the ship straight into the city, which was perfect! I spent time taking in the sights, including several statues and monuments, and the cathedral, then headed to the other coast and walked out to Castillo de San Sebastian. We then walked through the market, with stalls selling beautiful fruit and veg, fresh fish, seafood and meat. It was super bustling and busy!

On our last evening, we docked in Lisbon's Old Town, so the following morning I headed out to see Parca do Comércio, with its fabulous archway and statues and then views out to water and the famous bridge, then up to Miradouro Sophia De Mello Breyner Andresen, which has incredible views out over the city. An amazing way to end this wonderful trip with Azamara!
