We have booked the Riviera on Oceania Cruises in the summer. Do you need to book the speciality restaurants?
Yes, you do need to book a table in the speciality restaurants on-board the Oceania Riviera, as is the case with all Oceania Cruise ships, though it won’t cost you anything to book. You can book on-line before you travel and view sample menus online, too, though it’s also possible to book on the ship. Please be aware though that Concierge class and above passengers enjoy priority reservations when booking on-board. How many reservations you can make depends on which type of accommodation you select, but as a general guideline, guests in Owner’s Suites, Vista Suites and Oceania Suites are permitted two dining reservations in each speciality restaurant, while guests in other stateroom categories are permitted one dining reservation in each speciality dining venue.
If an Oceania ship has vacancies in speciality dining, do they advertise these on the day and allow guests to exceed their allocation?
Hello Mr Jackson and thanks for your question. There's no official notification in place for advertising vacancies on the day, so it's always a good idea to check in the morning to see if the restaurant you're hoping to visit in the evening has places available. It is possible to book speciality dining places on-board though and guests with priority embarkation privileges (Concierge and above) will have Priority Reservations from 11:00am until 1:00pm in Polo Grill. Guests in other staterooms can make their specialty restaurant reservations from 1:00pm - 5pm. With regard allocations, again, we can only suggest making enquiries once you are aboard, as the ship's restaurant staff will have a better idea of who is attending the restaurant each night. Hope this helps.
