Top 10 hangover cures for a cruise holiday

top 10 hangover cures

We’ve just had the Six Star Cruises Christmas party, and while we of course behaved with it being a school night, it did get me thinking – what is the best way to get past a hangover when you’re on a cruise ship?

So instead of picking one way, I picked out 10. Here are my top 10 hangover cures for getting past that headache when you’ve had a couple too many during your cruise holiday:

#1 Get some fresh air on the deck. Just take a stroll and breathe in that famed sea air. You’ll feel refreshed in no time.

#2 Distract yourself with a shore excursion. Throw yourself into a tour or an activity – especially something quite active – and you’ll barely even notice that you’re feeling under the weather.

#3 On the subject of being active, hit the gym and sweat it out. A good workout, either on the machines or as part of an organised class, can really help you feel re-energised.

#4 Eat a hearty breakfast – you’ll feel much better once you have a full stomach. A selection of fruits will be great for replacing fluids and getting essential vitamins.

#5 Fluid replacement is essential. Water is great but if you need to perk yourself up then order a coffee from room service.

#6 Chew some ginger and some of your symptoms will dissipate. Ginger also works as a seasickness cure, if you’re prone to suffering.

#7 Have a nap, either in your stateroom or on deck on a lounger. Just make sure you properly protect yourself from the sun.

#8 Linked to exercise, take a dip in the swimming pool. You’ll get the benefits of the activity, and the water on your body will help you feel refreshed.

#9 Spoil yourself with a massage or another spa treatment – by relaxing you’ll soon recover.

#10 Hair of the dog – simply have another cocktail.

Of course at Six Star Cruises we advocate sensible drinking, but if you ever find yourself in need of these tips, now you have them.
