Ikwenkwenzi Private Game Reserve

The reserve’s extensive collection of wildlife makes it one of South Africa’s most popular tourist locations.
Queen’s Park Botanical Garden and Zoo
Situated close to the city centre of East London, Queen’s Park Botanical Gardens was originally opened by Queen Victoria in 1896. The zoo was a later addition, constructed in 1930. The zoo is home to over 90 species of animal and has a spectacular water fountain containing a collection of Koi fish. Aside from the zoo, the Queen’s Park Botanical Gardens offer a peaceful, relaxing break from the bustling city of East London.
Amathole Museum
The Amathole museum is full of fascinating animal exhibits and contains second the largest collection of animals in South Africa. The Xhasa Gallery, situated within the museum focuses on the cultural history of the tribes of South Africa. Shopping in East London
The city contains a variety of small independent shops and large shopping malls selling an abundance of souvenirs and general items. One of East London’s most popular malls is Vincent Park shopping centre; a bright, fashionable and air-conditioned complex with over 100 different retailers, a multiplex cinema and ample parking. The city also boasts a selection of flea markets where visitors and locals can try to haggle for a bargain. Popular flea markets include Beacon Bay and Court Crescent Flea Market and are usually open at the weekends.
